Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with the letters in uppercase like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews by music journalists and media. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded to accompany an advertisement of John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. She gained some further recognition via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her track Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding an old grand piano hidden in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as an occupation or pastime but as a way to develop. She began writing lyrics of her own. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. In response to her mother's suggestion that people should not be aiming to be famous through their songwriting skills, she instead be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument when she was six. She started writing music when she turned nine. The family did not know about this until she was fourteen. Aurora had no idea of becoming a star. She claims that she enjoys writing songs. She believes music can make anyone feel better.
